Way back in February, 2005, when my blog was about three months old, I wrote a slightly-embarrassing-in-retrospect bit of triumphalism crowing about how bloggers had pushed Eason Jordan out of his senior position at CNN when it was revealed that he had accused the American military of, incredibly, targeting journalists(!!). Imagine my surprise when the New York Times itself quoted me at length (I ran out and bought about a dozen copies of that day’s paper, and I still have them, too!). You can still read the article here, if you’re interested.
And today, I found out the piece has actually been ‘collected’ in one of those quotes repositories! That’s right, at ThinkExist, you’ll find the following:
“Have we entered an era where our lives can be destroyed by a pack of wolves hacking at their keyboards with no oversight, no editors, and no accountability?”
At the time, the answer I gave was a qualified ‘no’. In retrospect, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’…

Congrats on the mention. That is a good quote. Weve taken democracy to a whole new level.
