…though McCain needed it more, after the somewhat embarrassing Saturday results. I suspect McCain wanted to win Virginia by more than 9, but still, a win is a win (and Virginia is winner-take-all)…
The interesting thing about the Obama results is that he has been not just winning, but pummeling Hillary…and that’s exactly what he has to do. Make the lead so big the superdelegates have no choice, that’s the Obama plan…as for Hillary, she can’t WAIT for February to be over…but before it’s over, she may be.
As a Texan, let me tell you it’s certainly odd to have my state in play. Things are usually locked up before the schedule hits us, but Hillary is treating Texas and Ohio as her last ditch firewalls. If she loses either of those states, she may very well have to withdraw….

Firewalls! Now where have I heard that expression before?

Yes, spoken like a true Giuliani fan….

Let’s see, am I surprised, shocked, or stunned by the state of the Democratic contest? All three is most appropriate. I would never had predicted this state of affairs - never. Which may say more about my political prognostication ability than anything else, but still… I’m not alone.

What is more shocking: Obama in the lead or the Giants winning the SuperBowl?
What a year… and it’s only February …

I don’t find Obama in the lead to be all that shocking. What I do find shocking is the margin by which both Democrats are outpolling their Republican rivals
Votes Delegates
Obama 8,977,712 1052
Clinton 8,424,971 934
McCain 5,256,000 789
Huckabee 2,684,000 214
That’s a huge margin, and it’s been that way ever since Iowa.
I’ll grant you the Giants, though.

Obama in the lead. I put the Giants winning the Super Bowl in the same category as the failed intelligence that had the world convinced Saddam had WMD: lots of smart people totally blind to reality (and as far as the Pats are concerned, I missed that too, but, then, I’m a fan).
