“The Lunatics Are Running The Asylum” Department

I have commented before on the absolutely disgustingly large proportion of ‘progressives’ who are infantile enough to believe that 9/11 was an inside job. Being at “Ground Zero”, so to speak, here in Austin, I see it almost daily (I’m quite serious). I think many of my readers who maybe aren’t exposed to this lunacy on a regular basis think I’m exaggerating.

Yet here comes a Zogby poll that says that 42.6% of Democrats think Bush either made 9/11 happen, or knew about and let it happen. Forty-two(!!!!) percent…and furthermore, Ron Paul fans, 11.6% of Libertarians chose the “made it happen” option. And, perhaps most depressingly, 62% of all 18-to-29-year-olds, regardless of affiliation, believe that Bush knew and let it happen.

All this, despite the fact that 9/11 is the most documented event in the history of the world, and the fact that not a single ‘fact’ or theory – not a single one! – trumpeted by the ‘9/11 Truth’ movement holds up under scrutiny.

We are raising a nation of idiots…

How many people can find the US on a map again?

  • Oh, man, was that video clip embarrassing…

  • 42% of Democrats Think George Bush Caused 9/11 or Let it Happen…

The Truthers are absolutely giddy at the Zogby poll results that confirms 42% of democrats believe that the Bush administration orchestrated the events of 9/11/2001, or at the very least set back and let it happen.
    Screw Loose Change dissec…

  • Being in Milwaukee I hear you loud and clear. Many friends who are otherwise professional, contributing members of society have some sort of complex when it comes to 9/11 and the Bush administration. Whatever the far left is doing for propaganda should be well documented and studied. Its doing a marvalous job and could convince anyone of anything right now. God help us.

  • I frequent a couple of message boards where there are some 9/11 Truthers, and it’s maddening. I may not like Bush, but come on. It’s ridiculous.

  • Fargus, exactly…this should not be a partisan thing. The level of cynicism involved here is staggering, as is the imperviousness to reason…I can’t stand the Clintons, either, but all that nonsense about them ordering all these murders and the Vince Foster conspiracy theories are absolute trash…and this is of a magnitude far greater: we’re talking the deliberate murder of 3,000 Americans by a U.S. president – the standards should not be “I can imagine it”, but rather, what direction does the actual evidence point in? When viewed in this manner, there is no debate, as the evidence points in a single direction…

  • too many steves

For some – many apparently – it is easier to believe that Bush is evil and all powerful than that 19 focused and committed terrorists are able to so easily do what they did on 9/11. Plus, if Bush, et al, are the culprit isn’t he more easily dealt with than if there is this vast amorphous network of people who hate us and wish to do us harm? Apparently so.

    But, as Fargus says: ridiculous.
