The Return Of Free MoDo?
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry:
The New York Times is poised to stop charging readers for online access to its Op-Ed columnists and other content, The Post has learned.
After much internal debate, Times executives – including publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. – made the decision to end the subscription-only TimesSelect service but have yet to make an official announcement, according to a source briefed on the matter.
The timing of when TimesSelect will shut down hinges on resolving software issues associated with making the switch to a free service, the source said.
Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis would only say in an e-mailed statement, “We continue to evaluate the best approach for NYTimes.com.”
Krugman, Dowd, Rich, et al, are like manna from heaven to a conservative blogger, in that any one of their pieces is a delicious target for a righteous take-down – but the bad news is you have to actually read them!
I’m so conflicted…

Well, you’ve probably missed a few snide comments from MoDo about Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson’s sex lives and how it reflects badly on the Republican Party. Oh, and how Shia LeBeuff is, like, so totally hot and stuff.
Eww.
Those sPitty op-eds usually end up in the local paper anyway. It really pisses me off that this country is so frugal that we can only afford like 25 op-ed writers for the whole nation. I particularly loathe seeing K-Lo in my Evansville paper.
No-brainer. I’m cryin’.
