Maybe Republicans really do steal elections - or libertarians, in any event…
Yesterday, a commenter on one of my threads expressed his disgust that I and others were not acknowledging the Republican candidacy of Ron Paul. Today, I see that the D’08 precinct of the Pajamas Media Straw Poll (you can vote once a week through the widget on the left) shows 60 of 120 Republican votes going to Paul.
A coincidence, I’m sure. Of course, there’s nothing wrong that that, per se, but I’m quite certain it doesn’t reflect the true preferences of my audience. So vote already, if you haven’t yet, and bring the results back in line with reality…

well its nice to see you’re honest about your blatant bias against this candidate. i’m sorry that you aren’t aware of the enormous support behind ron paul. if it doesnt reflect the “preference of your audience” than perhaps your audience is changing. i am appauled that you even have the nerve to post this. you might also be shocked to learn that ron paul has more friends on myspace than any other republican candidate. he also has a myspace Group that is growing anywhere from 10-100 people per hour. i’m sorry that you think television is the only source of exposure. the ron paul camp plans to prove that wrong this election. the irony is that ron paul is the most intelligent, experienced, honest person running for president. and this is the undermining nonsense that is tossed his away.

Gee, play fair, it could be that Ron Paul is instantly the most popular Republican candidate - or it could be that you’re spamming the poll just like you’re spamming me, by posting under multiple users with the same e-mail address - or did you think I wouldn’t notice?…
February 27th, 2007 at 7:21 pm
Exactly right. Ron Paul has been absolutely blacklisted and if people don’t have a problem with that….they should. These polls are being fixed because people evidently are not intelligent enough to pick their own candidate
the media has to do it for you.
It’s a little difficult to spam a poll when only one vote is allowed a week? Ron Paul supporters just realized the poll was up and voted. It’s that what you do vote? I guess you think only some people should be allowed to vote.
February 27th, 2007 at 8:16 pm
Yes…blacklisted…because voters are too stupid.
Wow, you’ve cracked the case…and the fact that several thousand Ron Paul votes come from a single IP address? No spam, no way!
Jeez…with all due respect, Ron Paul is the Dennis Kucinich of the Republican field…

Ron Paul is being blacklisted and censored here. You can deny it, but that doesn’t change reality.
February 28th, 2007 at 9:29 am
Yes, blacklisted…because I’m obligated on my own personal blog to talk about Ron Paul daily - it was in the Ron Paul Flack Bill of 2006. Notice how I’m censoring your comments, too - oh, wait, I’m not, now, am I?…

Mark. If you put aside all the crap in politics. What would you want for this country? Do you see the repercussions of what is happening in the world? When i first started looking into Ron Paul, it was merely to check out “the little guy”. I didn’t have any preconceived notions other than when you see politicians with small numbers, there’s usually a reason for it. But when i saw Ron’s voting record, and listened to his views on everything, it all matched up. He doesn’t flip flop.
But that’s not even the point. Do you not see our sovereignty and freedoms being taken from us through the DIRECT abolishment of our constitutional rights, under the guise of fear and need for security? Where do you get your information? Do you know that World War II was created by international bankers who were looking to put TWO nations further into debt through war profiteering and furthering the national fractional-reserve debt? Do you see the truth in the SPP and NAFTA and the super-highway being built as a way to destroy free trade and replace it with MANAGED TRADE? Please….do some homework before you go spewing anti-constitutional thoughts.
I could go on all day about the powers that be trying to turn this nation into a fascist, policed state, and yet here’s a candidate who’s aware of all of it, who doesn’t want these very things….he’s trying to give you back the freedom you’ve lost….and you’re talking him down! Why? Do you think democracy has always been? You DO realize that the preference for fascism by the ruling elite has ALWAYS been the case, and that democracy is short-lived from an historical perspective? The rules by which the ruling elite create a closed state have all been enforced and it’s only a matter of time unless we do something about it.
Look into FEMA, look in the concentration camps that are being built all over the nation, look into blackwater and the OTHER 246 private military/mercenary camps that are growing into a 162000+ army with federal contracts to police mine and your backyard. Look at the Patriot act and the abolishment of Habeus Corpeus. Look at the G8 summit and the private meetings that were closed to media regarding the North American Union. Look into SDR’s (the pre-cursor to the Amero - the replacement of Canadian, American, and Mexican federal currency). Look into the IMF and fractional-reserve banking practices.
You DO know that every dollar you have isn’t yours right? You DO know that the United States is going bankrupt because it is a DEBT-BASED economy created by a select few central banks who PRIVATELY own this nations currency.
Look at it this way. Our government borrows ALL of it’s money from central banks, and then pays it back at interest. That money is created out of thin air and devalues the current cycle in existence. Since 1913 when central banks took over the printing of our money, it has dropped in value from it’s original $1.00 value….to $0.04. 4 CENTS!!! You don’t OWN anything, including the computer you are using to respond to this comment. Right now, journalists and other media personnel who don’t go along with the current administrations ideology are hushed, or killed. As these “concentration camps” grow in addition to the army that grows with it, BOTH in conjunction with the patriot act as well as MANY other recently passed forms of legislation, you have to ask yourself….are you going to HELP america become what it was after 1776?….or are you going to sit and actually HELP those who would rather see you under constant surveillance, without room to think or talk about freedom and individual rights? Do some homework and get your history straight….there’s not much time.
You joked about voters being stupid……….a lot of poeple don’t know about these things, but that doesn’t make them stupid…they are mis-informed, you should know that….because you’re part of the mis-information. Perhaps there’s a reason for that, perhaps you’re mis-informed yourself. Do more research, think critically, and please, you obviously have a voice…use it to bring those who wish to work with us to protect the things given to us by the constitution, whether it be this Ron Paul fellow, or anyone else is for such things. No bickering…..as you do your research and find actual proof and factual evidence of ANYTHING…..share it with others…..otherwise, you’re only speaking from glib speculation and unawareness. Use the evidence and history to show what is happening, and really look into those who are for and against what is important. Ron Paul is one of those men who was just a little boy like the rest of us who grew up and chose a life that allowed him to see what’s going on. Fascism is the word for “I want to control everything” that elites have used since the dawn of social heirarchy. Don’t you see?

Very well spoken Corey….I’ll just say this….examine Dr. Paul’s voting record…. This man is obviously interested in getting America back to the system of government that made us great to begin with. For the last 7 years, Americans have seen their rights stripped from them. People are finally seeing the light. The lies are very well documented and American’s are sick of the corruption. In Dr. Paul, I believe Americans see an honest, sincere man. I really don’t care how badly the news media bashes the results, the fact remains that Americans got the opportunity to hear Ron Paul and, I believe, that he was received very warmly and as a breath of fresh air. Beat him up all you want. The fact remains that his popularity is booming because of the truth he speaks, not because of a few spamming supporters.

I’ve seen alot of talk about Ron Paul supporters faking the polls but there is a problem with that conclusion.
At last check abc poll ranked
Ron Paul 15,392
Mitt Romney 221
Rudy 211
McCain 122
etc
OK now someone could be voting over and over for Paul but how does that explain the rest of them getting such tiny numbers? You can’t erase other votes
and ABC has more then just a few hundred viewers I’m sure.
The only intelligent conclusion is that the polls are true
Ron Paul is the winner of the debate by a longshot and ABC and Yahoo and others are covering that up with rediculess theories about voting fraud in thier polls.
May 9th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
Yes, that is no doubt the case. I completely believe that Ron Paul, who is as telegenic as an empty tube of toothpaste, was seen as the winner of the debate by a margin of 78,000%.
Might I respectfully suggest you land sometime in the vicinity of reality?…
May 10th, 2007 at 2:42 am
OK Mark since you have such a grasp of reality please explain to a crazy person like myself why the other candidates got such tiny numbers?
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Story?id=3147940
then click on vote to see the numbers
BTW it only allows you to vote once.
Even if someone could vote more then just once how do you explain that a major poll on ABC’s website had only a few hundred real votes?
May 10th, 2007 at 11:08 pm
James, with all due respect, Internet polls are worthless. The problems are obvious and don’t merit explanation. In the real, scientific polls, Paul’s support is negligible. It’s honorable to support your candidate, but don’t kid yourself - he’s got no chance - none - of getting the nomination…
May 12th, 2007 at 9:44 pm
You still haven’t explained to me how an ABC poll right after the debate only managed to get a few hundred “real” votes. By saying it doesn’t
May 12th, 2007 at 10:56 pm
It’s not a real poll, James - it’s a gimmick to get web traffic.
All you have to do is click.
There is nothing - NOTHING - scientific about it.
I will not get into this further - because there is absolutely nothing to discuss. Ask yourself how every single REAL polling organization in the country has failed to uncover this momentous groundswell of support behind Ron Paul.
Look in the mirror, my friend, and stop playing the fool…
May 13th, 2007 at 4:03 am
I disagree
But it’s obvious your mind is made up.
Time will tell
