I think the most darkly comical thing about Sullivan is lately he’s been flogging his theory about “conservatism of doubt,” namely that a true conservative should always be aware of what he doesn’t know, and thus behave, well, conservatively in the face of that understanding.
Fine and dandy, but it just seems strange coming from a guy who has gone from being 100 percent certain that the war in Iraq was right and the president is a genius to being 100 percent certain that the war in Iraq was wrong and the president is a monster.
I guess there’s just some nuance of doubt in there that I’ve missed.
