The Aftermath

A Demonstration Of Why I’m In The Second Tier

Wretchard of the Belmont Club puts the pretenders like me to shame with this long, definitive, learned, epochal post on the blogosphere at war.  Comment from me would be superfluous…

You’re in the top of my first tier!

Hey, that’s nice to hear, particularly since you were one of the first bloggers I read on a regular basis. Now, I’m just waiting for someone to come along and ask me when I moved up from the third tier!…

And how many other blog sites have the esteemed Muffin Paw Print of Approval? None.

What makes a blog good in my eyes is its ability to analyze situations with dead on commenting. The comment does not have to be long. Mary Catharine Ham did this the other day when she summed up the Duke rape case with the following comment:

“It’s Durham. It’s full of a bunch of liberal white people who love to get yelled at by black people, and a bunch of liberal black people who are happy to oblige them. This story scratched that white guilt itch soooo good, they just couldn’t let it go, even though it was pretty clear from the beginning that the story was a little off.”

Another blog that has good insightful thinking is LaShawn Barber and her analyses of racial issues. She isn’t afraid to say what she wants. The Kansas City “Red” Star would never print a column by her. Allowing her to do so would be heresy.

I also enjoy The Gates of Vienna. The blogs are usually long but well worth reading. Quite a bit of thought is put into each of them. Even though it is long, read “Political Correctness: The Revenge of Marxism” by Fjordman. Extremely well done in my opinion.

You have a good blog because both sides of the political spectrum can comment as long as it is done in a respectful manner and you like arguing back. Good points on both sides with the ones on the left being on top of their head. You do have a disadvantage because you are just one person trying to maintain this site with constant stories.

I like reading the internet because it gives me an opportunity to read articles that would have never made it to print 15 years ago. There are many excellent writers out in the blog sphere that are just as good if not better than the established media. And many of them are not top tier sites.

I have never read The Belmont Club. Just doesn’t appeal to me. Nothing wrong with being second tier or even third tier. It’s the quality that counts.

Well, thank you, sir…I’ve got that Paw Print of Approval framed, by the way…
