The results of the Rasmussen poll completely contradict the Survey USA polls, which have Rudy beating all of the Democratic candidates by wider margins than McCain. My gut tells me that the Survey USA result is closer to the mark than Rasmussen, but I’d really like to know their methodology, so I could compare the two polls.
As far as Rudy only tied with Hillary at this point, I wouldn’t be too worried. Given the thumping Republicans just suffered in the polls, I would suspect that any head to head poll between Republicans and Democrats will favor Democrats for the next couple of months. If I’m not mistaken, Dole moved into a clear lead in the polls over Clinton shortly after the 1994 midterms, and we all know what happened after that.
