As we were discussing last night, since Ned Lamont won the Connecticut Senate primary, the intervening six days have seen the Republican party going out of its way to show its true colors with regards to its (very) thinly veiled racist agenda and its intolerance toward people of color and white people who support them. Of course, it goes way beyond that, but that’s as good a place to start as any.
The bottom line is that the Republican party is an elite club for wealthy whites and token minorities who will join their ranks and spew racist swill alongside their white brethren. Anyone who tells you differently is a liar, and anyone (like Ann Coulter or Michelle MalKKKin) who insists that liberals are the real racists is either mentally ill or they’re simply being willfully obtuse.
Anyone wonder where that Joe Lieberman in blackface mentality came from? I don’t know what’s worse, the quasi-literate ramblings of this neanderthal, the 300+ adoring comments from sycophantic, slobbering half-wits (Ned Lamont, meet your supporters!), or the fact that firedoglake, like 99.99% of the ‘major’ progressive blogs, erases any comments even remotely critical of the author(s) (I should know – I’ve never successfully had a comment left up there for even 5 minutes, and you all know how well-mannered I can be).

You’re right about the deleted comments at Hamsher – I attempted to ask her why it was ok to post the “Joe Blackface” picture, and was promptly deleted. I then attempted to ask her why it was ok for her to post an earlier depiction of Joe bound in leather and chains, and never made it onto the postings in the first place. Orwell would be so proud of folks like these, who like to proclaim how tolerant they are, but only if you agree 100% with them on everything.
BTW, Mark – Arianna’s minions at HuffPo are often more intolerant than Hamsher these days.
She was furiously deleting comments on the same day she was railing against the evil nazi washington post for deleting profanity filled comments– AND lambasting Instapundit and other right-wingers who didn’t allow comments! The woman is the biggest hypocrite.

(as an aside, I found Atrios’ site to be pretty fair in not editting/removing, but their chosen tactic was blocking return posts. A moral distinction that when compared to actual censorship, is acceptable.)

You have staked your beliefs on Ned’s inherent right to ascendancy from direct victory over a sitting senator in his own party, and are now faced with losing by double digits becuase of some quirk of fate.
Make no mistake, this will be far more humiliating than Florida 2000. A northeastern/extremely liberal state is about to make a major denunciation of you. Ned and and his empty barrel of ideas, along with the liberal nutcases, are about to be soundly thumped.

Firedoglake the so-called “progressive” blog falls right into line when it comes to discussing or even bringing up the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Oh they will make excuses and say they allow comments about the issue, but the bloggers seldom (if ever) write about or focus on one of the most critical issues in the middle east. When you do make comments about the I/P conflict or the Israeli lobby at that site the selective off topic police show up and incite a riot.
Jane Hamsher and Christy Hardin Smith have allowed Firedoglake to be shut down to this critical dialogue. Firedoglake is no different than the MSM on these issues.
