Commenting on l’affaire commencement:
…[M]y real beef against John McCain is the same as my beef against all supporters of the Iraq War and the current administration. He has collaborated (enthusiastically) in decimating the treasury, breaking the army, wrecking the bureaucracy, silencing the media, gelding the opposition party, handing the public lands over to private interests to exploit as they please, dirtying the air and water, impoverishing the working class, damaging the schools, outsourcing the jobs, and laying waste to the public health, not to mention killing and maiming thousands upon thousands of Americans and Iraqis, destroying the Iraqi infrastructure, defying international law, and alienating formerly friendly people around the world. His crimes are legion. He should consider himself lucky to get away with mere humiliation.
Is that all? He didn’t set any puppies on fire, or kick an old man in the groin? Jeez - self-righteous much, Jane?…

Is she talking about the Arizona Senator John McCain? She cites no examples of McCain’s atrocities to back up her statements. Nothing. Not a very good op-ed.
The one about “silencing the media” is a real laugher with “gelding the opposition party” close behind. I have never seen anyone “silence the media”. That group is exothermic. They spew nothing but hot air and gas.
Is this article satire?

Gawd these people are insufferable…silencing the media?
I swear, if it weren’t for the REAL threat of terrorism I might actually want the next president be a Democrat– if just so they stop exaggerating, lying, complaining, yelling…basically acting like a bunch of three year olds kicking and screaming

Alas, no…look at her other work at Huff’n'Puff - it’s in a similar vein, and equally pompous…

Jane, you ignorant slut…

Jane who?

I sometimes think McCain is too old to be president, but if he’s had the energy to do all that and give the commencement address at the New School, maybe I’ll have to reconsider…
