Speaking Victimhood To Power
Cynthia McKinney continues to give new meaning to playing the race card, even as the Capitol Police have referred her case to the U.S. Attorney’s Office:
Black clergy and lawmakers came to the defense of the firebrand congresswoman on Monday. McKinney smiled as her supporters heaped praise on her leadership and her new look — her trademark cornrows replaced earlier this year by a curly brown afro.
Her supporters tried to minimize the incident — which they called political, not criminal — but they also suggested it was an example of racial profiling. They called publicity surrounding the episode a distraction that is being used by “her enemies” to keep the congresswoman from performing her elected duties.
Immediately after the news conference, McKinney was ushered out of the building and into a black SUV, smiling and keeping silent when reporters questioned her.
The Rev. Reverend Darrell D. Elligan, president of Concerned Black Clergy, called McKinney competent, courageous and committed.
“She has our support unconditionally,” Elligan said. “She is not a threat to the security of our country.”
If Moses walked past a Capitol Hill security checkpoint without the proper credentials, and refused to stop when asked to, I would expect him to face charges, as well.
It’s high time that people quit cowering before trumped-up charges of racial discrimination…I hope the case will be pursued to the end, and vigorously…

I’ve commented on this before, but the Officers Union president made a statement of full support, backed him a 100% and praised the officer for doing his job. Don’t you think this is problematic for Dems. in light of McKinney playing all the victim cards – essentially accusing the officer of being a racist, sexist physical abuser?
I’m sorry didn’t finish…
pitting the Dem’s union constituency against their other victim constituency?
I just don’t think the union guys and gals are going to take kindly to this, especially since the officer was just doing his job.
I was listening to the original press conference and the text McKinney released prior to speaking added “Progressive” to the list of victocratic credentials but then she left it out when she delivered her oratory. I can ony imagine… only HOPE that someone, whether it was Harry Belafonte’s hairdresser or Danny Glover’s personal assistant, said “That’s too stupid to say even for us.” I was so dissappointed though. “She left out Proggy!” I complained to the radio. Cynthia McKinney (and she is from the next district over) is the nuttiest nutter in that nuthouse on the Potomac and THAT, friends and foes, is saying something indeed. If this were a Rep nutcase we would certainly have been treated to a reexamination of the events leading to her losing, however briefly, her House seat. Of course these days anyone truly interested can find the details… Google up “McKinney/Majette” for an unenlightening romp. Majette was her successor, also a black lady but that did not prevent Cynthia from declaring her actions as animated by racism. Her dad spelled it out for us. What was the cause of all of Cyndi’s woes? “J-E-W-S” sayeth her father and political guiding light. Crapulent doesn’t begin to cover this disgraceful career of equal, heaping measures of malice and stupidity. She needs to run for the Dem prez nom. She’s at least as faithful to her constituents sentiments as Howard Dean. Hey, maybe she would end up at the DNC. Couldn’t hurt.
This woman is getting exactly what she wants, free publicity. Let’s move on and forget about this event. She will never apologize and I doubt they will charge her. There are more important issues happening now. This has turned into a circus. Only one person has yet to weigh in on this issue and that is the ultimate clown himself, Jesse Jackson.
Has any major newspaper denounced her yet in an editorial? I do not think so and they will not. They are too afraid.
We should ignore her. She’s a woman of nearly NO influence in the House of Representatives who lives to try to outrage us conservatives.
Yes, she’s an idiot. Yes, she is a race-hustler. Yes, we need to keep her around to remind us what much of the left wing believes.
But glorify her thuggish behavior and publicity-hounding? Not me. She’s a disgrace who doesn’t deserve it.
