In answer to “Seeing the Forest”‘s question (who apparently can’t see the forest or the trees), I think it’s the fact that Brewster-Jennings was a paper-thin cover, consisting of a phone and a P.O box, so anyone looking into Ms. Plame’s baxkground would immediately know something was fishy. Also, she was previously posted at an embassy, which practically screams “CIA!” — making any future as a successful NOC something less than promising.
