Which One Is The Parody?

One of these is from Scrappleface, the other from the Washington Post:

When Usama bin Laden, in his most recent threatening audiotape, recommended William Blum’s five year old book, The Rogue State, its sales rank on Amazon.com jumped from 209,000 to 20. That success has launched a new business for al Qaeda that could challenge the dominance of Oprah Winfrey in the book club industry.

Members of Usama’s Book Club will receive personal recommendations from the charismatic leader, as well as the opportunity to review the club’s latest featured selection every 30 days “at no risk to life or limb, as long as you keep the book and pay the invoice.”

Twenty-four hours after Osama bin Laden told the world that the American people should read the work of a little-known Washington historian, William Blum was still adjusting.

Blum, who at 72 is accustomed to laboring in relative left-wing obscurity, checked his emotions and pronounced himself shocked and, well, pleased.

“This is almost as good as being an Oprah book,” he said yesterday between telephone calls from the world media and bites of a bagel. “I’m glad.” Overnight, his 2000 work, “Rogue State: A Guide to the World’s Only Superpower,” had become an Osama book.

Who says irony is dead?…

Maybe KOS has it wrong. It is Amazon that is working in conjunction with bin Laden. Maybe he can endorse one of Al Franken’s books or MM’s movies to pump up their sales. What’s the next step. Demon-rat candidates being endorsed by bin Laden. Pick Hillary, pick Hillary.

  • I tell you, it’s dangerous trying to do parody these days…life is making it too difficult…

  • Invoicing Software…

Billing and invoicing software can be used by service industry professionals such as accountants, lawyers, engineers, and pc technicians for tracking invoices, contingency billing and creating automatic professional reports to be printed or emailed….
