Not that anyone watches them anyway, but tonight’s Golden Globes are a foregone conclusion. Bet the farm on Brokeback Mountain (I mean, come on, it’s a sensitive movie by Ang Lee with gorgeous cinematography (so I’m told - I’ve yet to see the film) - and it’s about GAY COWBOYS! Talk about a can’t miss…). So if you’re in a movies frame of mind, why not stop by the latest concoction at Pajamas. It’s called Mondo Hollywood, and there is some really interesting stuff, including video interviews with a number of actors and filmmakers, including this interview with Gary Sinise, who talks about his program for Iraqi children…

I’m getting a little tired of the tut-tutting of various social critics who seem to say any heterosexual male who skips this sensitive tale of forbidden love is doing so because he’s a homophobe. Have they not noticed you can’t get many heterosexual males to go see movies about sensitive tales of forbidden love between a man and a woman either?
I mean, if the movie had some shootouts and explosions, maybe I might go out and see it…

Dennis-
Just wait… next year Hollywood will finally hit on the correct combination: a sensitive tale of the forbidden love between two incredibly hot lesbians — an undercover cop posing as the girlfriend of a notorious mobster, and that mobster’s daughter. Plenty of room for tortured emotional plot twists (cop caught between reporting the daughter’s illegal drug use, as leverage against her father, and protecting her lover; daughter caught between loyalty to her father and to her lover) but also room for shootouts, mob hits, and lots of sex.

Clint:
That sounds like a very important movie. I plan on seeing it — just to prove I’m not a homophobe, of course.

sorry fellas, but if you refuse to see Brokeback Mountain it is not because you are homophobes, it is because you are latent homosexuals. sheesh.
