The Stupidest Stories Die The Hardest

Proving singlehandedly that education doesn’t mean smarts, BYU Professor of Physics Steve Jones finds it quite plausible that explosives brought down the World Trade Center. Incredibly, despite the fact that 9/11 is the most photographed, filmed, and discussed event of modern times, people still choose to deny the truth that is right in front of them. Gotta make all the BYU parents proud that their tuition money is going to such good use (hat tip to Michelle Malkin, who also provides a link to this excellent article I’ve linked before that debunks the conspiracy theorists)…

  • Mad Scientist at BYU!

It is a shame that a professor at Brigham Young University, A school owned by my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would stoop to conspiracy theories instead of hard science. Steven E. Jones a nuclear physics professor has theor…

  • Steve Jones: Academia’s Oliver Stone (and that’s not good)

Steven Jones is yet another example of why tenure is not such a good thing. If you or your kids are being taught by them be prepared for inane conversation and arguments. The man’s idiocy scares us.

What is his crime? The already-tired conspi…

  • No, this means that I accept reality…really, I find 9/11 conspiracy theories not only tiresome, but personally offensive, and you’ll find no friendly reception here to desecrations of the memory of the 3,000 victims of Islamofascists…

  • M Brumsen

Oh yes Mark, truth can be offensive. We have known that since Galileo, haven’t we.
Dismissing hypotheses because one doesn’t like the content is not exactly scientific, is it. And the interesting thing is, nobody yet has succeeded in refuting Jones’ claims.
In order not to desecrate the memory of the victims, are you committed to one particular group of perpetrators of this crime? I wonder why.

  • Apparently you missed the quite prominent link to the article that debunks this stupid theory…

  • Richie

Mark, It is apparent that YOU missed the actual facts. Tiresome? I agree. But wrong? Maybe not. I don’t think anyone with those credentials are willing to sacrifice his own reputation if it(the theory) indeed were preposterous.

  • Hey, Richie, I’m in no mood for conspiracy theories about the WTC today of all days; so I hope you won’t think I’m rude if I say get bent…
