Now is the time to marshall the troops and ride down the dems…
(still would like to see a Rove demotion*, to bring in some fresh charismatic blood to speak for the party)
*=his job is to advise the President and he still can, but it would also be wise to make an appearance of demotion/or shifting of responsiblities. C Boyden Gray!( as I have previously championed) would be the perfect guy to speak on alito’s behalf-and the GOP at large. Moving Rove publicly, but in reality changing his role very little, is a fair trade, and a good defensive move. They can act as if it never happened, but leak some rumors
and let the press assume it did, and the WH is too embarrassed to discuss it.
