The Race Is On

Indictments? Here’s The Scoop

No, I don’t have any inside info…but I’m going to be in and out during the day, and I leave later for my big U2 show tonight (woooooo-hoooooo!), so, after devoting so much time and space to PlameGate, I may very well miss any announcement. Here’s my guide (and it’s nothing many others haven’t said before) to what to expect:

Scenario 1: No indictments. Obviously, a huge victory - but maybe a temporary one, if the investigation is extended.

Scenario 2: Libby indicted, but not Rove. Still a victory of sorts - believe me, if Rove skates, it will take a lot of wind out of the sails of the left. Subject to the same qualifiers as above if Rove is only not indicted for now and the investigation continues.

Scenario 3: Rove indicted, whether with or without others. Kos Kidz and Arianna suffer massive simultaneous heart attacks from uninterrupted hours and hours of jumping up and down and screaming hysterically, “Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead!”. Obviously, very bad news.

As to the other possibilities, such as the indictment of peripheral characters (and notice I don’t give any thought at all to Cheney being indicted - that’s a pipe dream of the progressives), eh, I don’t feel that strongly one way or another right now.

This is probably the day…let’s keep our fingers crossed…

Yeah, what a victory it will be when 2 guys inside the white house divulge the name of a covert government agent and get away with it!!! That would be a great day for our government indeed!!! Sort of like that hero Oliver North!! He sells arms to our enemies in Iran (that’s the same Iranians who not long before held our hostages for over a year and not long after were implicated in the Beirut barracks where 250 of his fellow Marines were killed) and is not considered a hero by pseudo-moral conservatives!!! Where’s George Orwell when you need him???

Gee, Phil, I guess it was a big victory for the Democrats when Joe Wilson got away, to date anyhow, with frankly lying about what he found on his little excursion to Niger. The exact opposite of what he said in his op-ed by the way. Well, it is of course a big victory for the Democrats and the Left when the CIA (ever the darling of the peaceniks, right?) engages in a media war against the elected (oops! Or was it?) officials for whom they are supposed to be working with, again, lies. Lies that redound (as they always seem to do) to the benefit of the worst mass murderer of the modern age. I should mention that is Saddam, not George. I’m glad to see you do know that Iran is our enemy, self-declared and implacable. I hope that realization will endure when we have to actually engage the Iranians in a stand-up fight. I’m sure we can count on you. Oh, and Plame was not “covert”, just, basically, a janitor at Langley. And the details of her employment were revealed by Wilson himself to David Corn and were known already to her neighborhood. So, no sale, sorry. Seems to me there was a time when the CIA acting as a shadow government, enacting its own policies in contravention of those of the elected (dang, there’s that word agian) officials was probelmatic. Those days are over, apparently. So, yes, a victory in that the Democrats failed to do with subversion what they failed to accomplish at the ballot box. Tasty.

…when 2 guys inside the white house divulge the name of a covert government agent and get away with it!!!

So are you really asserting that no one else knew that Plame was covert? And that Rove and Libby were the first people to make that information known?

You haven’t been following this story very closely, have you? Not that it would matter anyway.

The best line I’ve read so far on this mess was from a commenter over at Protein Wisdom, who mentioned how disappointed the moonbats would be if all they got for Fitzmas was a Scooter…

  5. 5 Mark Says:

utron, that is indeed a beauty of a line…
