Miers, Miers, We Got More Miers!

Wow, there is a lot more good stuff out there on this nomination than with Roberts – it seems Roberts was so good, people couldn’t really get too fired up on either side, a sentiment echoed in the latest installment of The Hotline’s Blogometer (worth reading daily, if you aren’t already – a very good summary of the latest blogging, both right and left):

This a.m. debate in the blogosphere seems almost the opposite of the CJ John Roberts nod. Roberts proved popular (or benign) enough that his confirmation was often overshadowed by the day’s latest events. At least for now, Miers is proving controversial enough that other stories aren’t breaking through.

Our good friend the MinuteMan weighs in:

This may be a moment when the right blogosphere discovers something that our friends on the left have come to terms with (or not) over the last several years – bloggers are not representative of public opinion. It may be that Bush actually gets a boost in the polls from this…

Mickey Kaus makes a rare mistake when he gloats that the original Coalition got it wrong…read all about it here…Mickey, does the fact that Harry Reid likes her make her a bad nominee? That’s no better logic than opposing a nominee just because Bush nominated her…or am I missing something?…(However, it appears that Michelle Malkin, who is most emphatically NOT happy with this pick, would agree with Mickey)…
