When I saw the latest ravings of the increasingly deranged Cindy Sheehan, I naturally wanted to fisk away, but I didn’t know if I would have the energy to slog through her tedious ranting. Fortunately, our good friend AJStrata saved me the trouble; read all about it here…

Well, at the very least it’s nice to see someone on the left complaining that Bush was too quick to respond to New Orleans. The city would be so much better without all those icky soldiers with their nasty guns.
Man, I thought I felt sorry for her before, just because no mother should have to bury her son. But I’m really starting to feel sorry for her now. She seems terribly unhinged. Even having soldiers save a city with their presence is too much for her.

Wow. Just — wow. I don’t even know what to say.
I just spent five minutes thinking of a clever rejoinder, but I can’t. I mean, seriously, how do you even satirize this? I’m pretty sure it’s scientifically impossible to sound any more ridiculous.

Guess what was in my mailbox today? A little blue post card that reads:
SUPPORT THE TROOPS
Join Cindy Sheehan and
the BRING THEM HOME NOW BUS TOUR
RALLY AGAINST THE WAR
Friday, Sept. 16th — 5-7PM
I was stunned that I was even on such a mailing list–then I realized it was addressed to my moveon.org neighbors and had been wrongly delivered. Since the rally is about to start as I type, there’s no point in giving it to them, they would only be disappointed, but I’m tempted to head down just to witness the carnival. Really, things are not turning out so well for the liberals–Plamegate, the Roberts nomination, Katrina, now Cindy…got to get some new material…

Wow…
Really, man…..
Wow…
Nothing more to say about this.

Cindy who? That name sounds vaguely familiar…

Stunned silence seems to be the comment de jeur when faced with Cindy’s ridiculous ranting. AcademicElephant, if you go, please share, won’t you?…

Let’s try liberal logic on for size and apply it to Cindy’s statements, shall we? She said she wanted the troops out of occupied New Orleans and that is was wrong for those horrible facists to forcibly remove people form their homes, therefore CINDY HATES BLACK PEOPLE AND WANTS THEM ALL TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry about the caps and the exclamtion points, but they seem to be ubiquitous whit left-wing rants about ChimpyMcStupid)

“Join Cindy Sheehan and

Unless, of course, their homes are in the New Orleans area. Then we don’t want the jackbooted thugs anywhere near the place, I guess.

There was a torrential thunderstorm and I was prevented from going by my worrywart other half who thinks I will get into fights, but I will check the local press for commentary.
You know, this kind of ranting in a way makes me feel more sympathetic to Sheehan–she has so obviously lept into the abyss of insanity. I wonder if, faced with the loss of one of my children to what I considered left-wing irresponsibility, I would become some sort of nutty ultra-conservative vigilante? In some ways, she can’t be held responsible for her statements because she’s certifiably crazy, but she has to be contained before she does something violent, which is the next step down this road. Her exploitation is sad and pathetic.
That said, I just wonder what she might say in Washington next Saturday??? The sky’s the limit.

As was said in LGF:
No Blood for Gumbo !!!!!
Or perhaps
Bring the Boys Home by Mardi Gra !!
I like the first quote best. It has 5 exclamation points.

I’m having trouble finding much info on the rally, but it seems that Cindy wasn’t there, having decided to “take the day off.” I’m sure her schedule is exhausting. What I find interesting is that the invite I received clearly says she will be there–do they have to trick people into activism with the (rather dubious) lure of a celebrity?

Fred, if only it was in all caps, it would have been REALLY CONVINCING!!!!!! AcademicElephant, thanks for the update…
