Chris Lehane: NARAL Ad ‘Was Great’
If you’re looking for a prominent Democratic strategist who has gone totally Kossack, look no further than Chris Lehane. In a Dana Milbank piece in the Washington Post examining the pullback of the offensive NARAL ad that accused John Roberts of sympathy for abortion clinic bombings, Lehane had this to say:
Democratic strategist Chris Lehane, who like [eight-time presidential campaign loser Bob] Shrum favors hardball politics, protested that “we Democrats bring a well-thumbed copy of Marquess of Queensberry Rules while the other side unsheaths their bloody knives, with a predictable outcome.” Lehane said the NARAL ad “was great, and exactly the type of offensive that breaks through in the modern age.”
You keep thinking that, Chris (is it any wonder the Democrats can’t win the Presidency?)…

The most surefire way to get me to change the channel is to show Chris Lehane’s face.
He is the personification of vomit.
Listen, I don’t mean to go to the ad-hominem– and I don’t mean this as a personal attack– but Chris Lehane is a freak! I mean literally. It’s like, he’s a total weasel. He’s the wierdest guy I’ve ever seen.
I find it absolutely astonishing that he would defend such a farcical ad…don’t let anything like the truth get in the way of your partisanship, Chris…
In other words, the Democrats think its time to stop calling Republicans names like Fascists, Hitler, and terrorist and take off their gloves.
They remind me of something a Tory said in the 1980s after a particularly crushing victory. When asked if they really expected to keep winning elections forever, he replied “no, just until the Labor party regains its sanity.”
[...] Mark Coffey, in his brand new digs at Decision ‘08, takes some time to use Chris Lehane as a punching bag. [...]
