McCain: Another View

The San Diego Union-Tribune, while making many of the same points I and countless others have (McCain has a tough run in the primaries, he’s not a darling of the Religious Right), is decidedly more upbeat about his prospects than I am. Question, though - do McCain supporters really deserve the moniker ‘McCainiacs’? Is anybody really that stoked about a McCain run? And does McCain deserve a Howard Dean leftover?…

    I think McCain is labelled “moderate” unfairly. He is a foreign policy hawk and staunchly pro-war. He makes Bolton looks like a metrosexual. I doubt Bolton would heap insults at the German ambassador for criticizing the US.

    He is however not a “social conservative” and it will cost him in the primary.

    Minh-Duc, that is the problem, the social moderation (and surely you have hit on a preview of McCain’s campaign strategy, which will probably run as follows - John McCain: the Toughness and Experience to Wage a War on Terror)…
